Privacy Policy

This explains what personal data this website collects, why, who handles it, how long it is kept and what your rights are.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Adekunle Okunade, trading as HY MAX SOLUTIONS (Business name registration no. 9702099, Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria). I am based in Lagos, Nigeria.

I am also a Certified Data Protection Officer in Nigeria (IIM Certified Data Protection Officer, awarded by the Institute of Information Management in July 2026).

For any privacy question or request, contact me at hello@adekunleokunade.com.

2. What I collect, and why

If you ask for a template or join the newsletter

I collect your first name and email address, which resource or form you used, the exact consent wording you agreed to and when, the time you confirmed your email, and a few topic tags (for example "excel") so I know what interests you. I use this to send you what you asked for and, because you agreed, occasional emails about data analytics. Legal basis: your consent. You confirm by clicking a link in an email (double opt-in), and you can withdraw consent at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email. After you unsubscribe I keep a record marked as unsubscribed so you are not emailed again.

If you send a message through the contact or consulting form

I collect your name, email, company (optional), why you are getting in touch or which service you want, and your message. For consulting enquiries I also collect the budget range and preferred contact method you choose, and for some reasons the extra details you type, such as a job link or an event name. I use this to reply to you and to discuss possible work. Legal basis: my legitimate interest in answering messages sent to me, and steps taken at your request before any agreement. Using these forms does not add you to the newsletter.

When you simply visit the site

The website host processes your IP address and basic browser information in routine server logs, to deliver the pages and keep the site secure. This site does not use advertising trackers.

Spam protection

Forms use hidden checks and rate limits to block automated abuse. Where it is switched on, Cloudflare Turnstile also checks that a form is filled in by a person; it receives your IP address and browser signals to decide this.

Videos and reports from other companies

Video pages show a thumbnail loaded from YouTube's image servers, so YouTube can see your IP address when you open them. The video player itself loads only when you press play, and interactive Power BI or Excel reports load only when you press "Load interactive report". Those companies then handle your data under their own policies.

3. Who else handles your data

I do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising. These providers handle data on my behalf to run the site:

  • Vercel: hosts the website, and sees visitors' IP addresses in routine server logs.
  • Supabase: stores email sign-ups and enquiries in a database.
  • Resend: sends the emails (confirmations, downloads, notifications).
  • Cloudflare Turnstile: checks that a form is filled in by a person, not a bot.

Some of these providers process data outside Nigeria. I use providers that offer data processing terms, and I only send them what is needed for the purpose above. I may also disclose data where the law requires it.

4. How long I keep it

  • Email subscribers: for as long as you stay subscribed. After you unsubscribe I keep only a record that you did, so you are not emailed again, unless you ask me to erase it completely.
  • Sign-ups you never confirm: deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Messages and enquiries: kept for up to 24 months after they are dealt with, then deleted.
  • Server logs: kept by the host for the short period set by its own policy.

5. Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (and similar laws where you live, such as the GDPR) you have the right to:

  • be told how your data is used (this policy);
  • see the data I hold about you and get a copy;
  • have wrong data corrected;
  • have your data erased, or its use restricted, in the cases the law allows;
  • object to my use of your data;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting what I did before; and
  • not be subject to a decision made only by automated means. I make no such decisions.

To use any of these rights, contact me at hello@adekunleokunade.com. I will reply within one month. If you are not happy with my answer you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or to the data protection authority where you live.

6. Keeping your data safe

The site uses HTTPS. The database is private and only the website's server can reach it. Confirmation and download links are random, expire after 48 hours and are stored only in a scrambled (hashed) form. Files you request are not at a public web address. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps and I will tell you and the regulator if a breach puts your rights at risk.

7. Children

This site is for adults and is not aimed at anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent me their data, contact me and I will delete it.

8. Cookies

See the Cookie information page. In short, the site sets no tracking cookies of its own, so there is no cookie banner to click away.

9. Changes to this policy

If I change how I use data I will update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters to you, for example a new use of your email address, I will ask for your consent again.
