I started with economics and ended up in data

I studied Economics at the University of Lagos, with a BSc in 2023 and an MSc in 2025, focusing on econometrics, forecasting and statistical modelling. It taught me to ask what is driving a number, not only what the number is.

In 2020 I joined Singularity Technology Nigeria, a fintech lender, as a Loan Recovery Analyst. Working inside a high-volume lending business showed me how credit decisions play out in real repayment behaviour. I became Team Lead for Collections and Risk Monitoring in 2021, then Senior Team Lead for Credit Performance and Risk Analytics in 2022.

That work pulled me towards SQL, Python and Power BI. I completed the Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate and the IBM Data Science Specialization, among others, and I use these tools to monitor portfolios, flag early warning signals and report on recovery.

Alongside my job I share what I learn in data analytics videos on YouTube, and I take on analytics projects for organisations that want their data turned into clear reporting.
